The Colbert Report host Stephen Colbert is recovering from an on-the-job injury. The Associated Press reports that the 43-year-old satirist broke his wrist while "running around" his studio before the June 27th taping of his show. He waited for a couple of weeks before doctors put a cast on the wrist and then disguised the injury with a foam hand, which he removed in front of his studio audience on Thursday (July 26th).
Colbert told viewers he choose to keep his ailment to himself because he "didn't want to draw attention to it." He said, "I didn't want to play on your sympathy."
The Colbert Report airs weekdays at 11:30 on Comedy Central.
