Despite having been photographed with him all summer, Kirsten Dunst denies being romantically involved with Drew Barrymore's ex, Justin Long. "I don't know him from Adam," Dunst says in the October issue of Harper's Bazaar. "I met him once and he and his friend were kind enough to walk me home. I've never seen him since." Regardless of her claim, over Labor Day weekend, the pair was spotted checking into Los Angeles's Chateau Marmont hotel together.
Star Jones has reached a divorce settlement with businessman Al Reynolds, her rep confirmed on September 10th. A last-minute agreement was reached the day before the pair was due in court to have a judge hash things out for them. The New York Post reports Reynolds was trying to fight an airtight prenuptial agreement, and he says he was left with "basically nothing." The pair split in March after three-and-a-half years of marriage.
Russell Brand claims that MTV has asked him to return to the Video Music Awards to host next year's show. "MTV told me they want me to do it again," he is quoted as saying by Britain's The Sun. "Afterwards they were thrilled. There was a 20 percent increase in viewers from last year's show and wow, isn't life exciting." Brand drew mixed reviews for his performance, which included insulting remarks about President George Bush and jokes mocking the Jonas Brothers' purity rings.
Family Guy comedienne Alex Borstein and her husband, Gilmore Girls actor Jackson Douglas, welcomed their first child on September 8th. The 35-year-old gave birth to son Barnaby Borstein Douglas, who weighed in at eight pounds, 10 ounces.
NBC Today show news reporter Natalie Morales gave birth to a baby boy September 9th, TVGuide.com reports. Today anchor Meredith Vieira announced the birth on-air September 10th, saying Morales and little Luke were "doing just great." Morales and husband Joe Rhodes also have a four-year-old son named Josh. Morales plans to return to the Today set around the holidays.
Newlywed daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has signed to be the next CoverGirl spokeswoman, according to Entertainment Tonight. DeGeneres, who recently tied the knot with partner Portia de Rossi, is said to be pocketing one million dollars for the campaign, which she'll shoot this week. Former CoverGirl spokeswomen include Christie Brinkley, Faith Hill, Queen Latifah, Rihanna and Drew Barrymore.
