Steve Coogan Refuses Blame For Owen Wilson's Suicide Attempt

British actor Steve Coogan is refuting claims that he fueled Owen Wilson's drug habit and recent suicide attempt. His ex-girlfriend, Courtney Love, singled out Coogan's influence on Wilson earlier this week when she told Us magazine, "I went through it with Steve... I was just out of rehab, and he was right there with the drugs... I hope from the bottom of my heart that Owen stays the hell away from that guy."

Coogan, Wilson's Night at the Museum co-star, shot back on Access Hollywood saying, "I do want to set the record straight and say that the allegations... are completely and utterly false." He tried painting Love in a bad light by telling BackBook magazine that she stalked him after their break up, a claim that her friends vehemently denied.

Coogan has a small role in Tropic Thunder, the Ben Stiller-directed comedy that Wilson dropped out of following his August 26th suicide attempt.

Wilson was admitted to the hospital after he was found at his home by family members on August 26th after attempting to kill himself.

Wes Anderson, the director of Wilson's forthcoming film, The Darjeeling Limited, has said that the 38-year-old actor "has been through quite a lot this week" yet he's "doing very well, he's making us laugh."
