Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten Light Up 'Thunder'
Extraordinary jazz bassists Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, and Victor Wooten have joined forces as S.M.V. and will release their first album collaboration, titled Thunder, on August 12th. The Heads Up International release features tune written by each of the members.
Also contributing to Thunder are keyboardists Chick Corea and George Duke, trumpeter Michael "Patches" Stewart. and vocalist/beatboxer Butterscotch.
"We wanted to make a bass record with a sound that would be somewhat unexpected to the listener," says Clarke, the elder statesman of the three bass heroes. "The biggest hurdle was to make a record with three basses that would still be as musical as possible."
S.M.V. will roll out its Thunder at a special July 27th show at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
