Q: What do I get by joining the Smooth Jazz Listener Club?
A: 1. You are automatically entered into the Trip-A-Day Giveaway just for being a member (if you're 21 or older)!
2. You get the Online Advantage...when you provide us with your e-mail address and permission to send you cool things, you get subscribed to our Insider E-Mail, which contains Trip-A-Day Giveaway contest times, concert news, the opportunity to win cool prizes (CDs, tickets, etc.)...and info on all the latest Smooth Jazz happenings!
Q: If my name was ever drawn and announced in the Trip-A-Day Giveaway and I missed it, can I be drawn again or do I have to re-register?
A: If you missed your name, you could be drawn again. There's no need to re-register. Keep listening and good luck! Get your friends and family to listen for you, too, so you won't miss your name being announced and you can call us in time to win your trip!
Q: I signed up but am not receiving the Insider E-Mail.
A: If you want to receive the Insider E-Mail, you have to have clicked "Yes" to the question "Is it OK if Smooth Jazz V98.7 sends you info and other cool stuff?". If you did not select "Yes" you will not receive it and may wonder why it never comes to you. We want you to get your full Online Advantage and we know you want that, too!
You can login to update your e-mail preferences and other personal information. Be sure to click "Save My Changes" at the bottom of the page!

If you are not receiving your e-mail at a work e-mail address, your company may be blocking HTML (e-mail displaying color fonts, graphics and pictures) or HTML MIME e-mail. They do that to save you time from spam and scams. We send out a combined HTML/Text message, and some spam filters and other blocking technology can't always differentiate from what you want or don't want. So you may login and change your preference to text only if need be and we'll just send you a plain text message. Many companies allow plain text e-mail to come in. If your company no longer allows personal e-mail, you could sign-up for a free e-mail account with Yahoo! or Google, among others, then login to their sites to view your e-mail. Then remember to login here and update your e-mail address.
If you are not receiving your Insider E-Mail, you should check your spam filter or junk mail/bulk mail settings/folders. Common problems also encountered...
1) companies have switched to spam filters without telling employees, 2) our e-mail ends up in bulk mail (Yahoo!) or junk mail folders (Hotmail), 3) a mailbox is full and will not accept more mail or 4) the e-mail has been accidentally blocked or you may have accidentally unsubscribed yourself from the list. Be careful!
A spam filter you buy for personal use may require you to instruct it what is spam and what is not. Some providers may require you to instruct them as to whether the message they think might be spam is spam or not. Yahoo! does this, for example, and MSN has a spam blocker that works along those lines.
If you work where they use Antigen for Exchange or other filters using keywords, you may see us blocked. We have not had problems with Brightmail and the other more intelligent spam filter solutions. If your place of business uses filters that are blocking us, we suggest getting an e-mail service where you can access your e-mail filter controls, or see what has been blocked. Of course, you can always login to view the current Insider E-Mail, but you may miss out on special e-mail offers from us, for example, when tickets go on sale for concerts as you wouldn't know when to look. We haven't figured out telepathy yet.
Be sure to add us to your Address Book if you haven't already.
Many Internet Service Providers now check your webAddress Book as part of their Spam Filtering process. In most cases you can simply "Reply" to the Insider E-Mail without changing the subject line and that will add it to your Address Book, or click on "Add Address" or whatever applies for your service.
AOL Users: AOL now offers multiple options for filtering e-mail. Please check that your e-mail is configured to receive Internet e-mail from us. For more information, use AOL keyword: Mail controls. Our addresses for the Insider E-Mail are contactus@wvmv.listenernetwork.com , wvmv@listeneremail.net and insider@wvmv.com If you send e-mail to us using another address for us, please make sure that address is in your address book so you can receive our response. AOL will block us if you haven't done this.
If you are still having problems receiving the Insider E-Mail (this could be the case if you are using a work address, or simply can't access your spam settings or don't know how) login and uncheck the HTML version (under your E-Mail Address on the form). We will only send you the text version which may be the answer to your problem if the spam filters are set to especially block HTML e-mail.
Q: When do you send out the Insider E-Mail?
A: It is now usually sent out bi-weekly on Saturdays but may be delayed due to holidays or when we take a break from the Trip-A-Day Giveaway. Special concert announcements are infrequent but can go out at any time as we want to get the word out ASAP.
Q: How do I get my info updated if I moved or changed my name or phone number?
A: Simply login to the Listener Club and update your info. It's very simple. Your login is your registered e-mail address and the password you chose, or a number password generated by the server when your data was imported for longtime members who joined before 2003. If you can't remember your password, click the link on the login page and it will be sent to your registered e-mail address. We know you can't remember them all, we can't either.
Q: I requested my password, but still haven't received it.
A: Earthlink and some spam protection services require you to add our e-mail addresses to your address book or safe list. Please add contactus@wvmv.listenernetwork.com, wvmv@listeneremail.net and insider@wvmv.com so the message can get through. If this wasn't already done by you, you will have to request the password again as the message will have been blocked.
Q: What do I do if the computer can't find my information when I try to login?
A: Be sure you used the e-mail address you registered. If you have changed e-mail adresses, as many people do, it may be an older one in our database that was never updated. It's best to login yourself to update your info so there's no delay. If we received too many "hard-bouncebacks" from your ISP, refusing delivery of the Insider E-Mail, your e-mail address could have been de-activated by the computer but your other registered info would still be there. If you still can't login, use the message box below to get in touch with us. Be sure to send your name as registered, e-mail as registered, your street address, city, zip code, birthdate and home/cell phone number where you can be reached if we have questions and to help us correct the problem.
Q: My password doesn't work.
A: Please carefully type it in. In our experience, that has always been the cause of the problem. If it is one of the computer assigned passwords, it has a series of numbers separated by a dash. Include all numbers and the dash in the proper order. If you're getting the password from a password request message, you can simply copy and paste it in.
Q: Why does Smooth Jazz V98.7 need my birthday?
A: To comply with federal and state laws regarding the privacy of children, we need to verify that all members are legally old enough (above 13 years of age) to use this site and give us their information without the consent of a parent. Also, you must be 21 years of age or older to be eligible for the Trip-A-Day Giveaway. Besides, you might receive a nice surprise from us on your birthday! (And don't worry, we won't spill the beans! ;-) )
Q: Other problems?
A: If you are having problems connecting to our registration link to get the Online Advantage, you may be experiencing a temporary Internet problem. Please try again.
If you are still having problems, and have checked everything mentioned above, e-mail us. We'll be happy to help figure out what's going on.
Due to new Federal laws, we will not accept any e-mail address that is to be used for messages sent directly to a mobile device. Any such e-mail address will be rejected. Messages that are forwarded to a PDA, such as a BlackBerry or Palm Pilot, or a cell phone from an e-mail address that is not directly associated with a mobile device are not affected by this policy.
NOTE! To opt out and stop the Insider E-Mail, use the opt out link at the bottom of the e-mail or login and unsubscribe yourself. You must use this method to notify us of your opt-out request, as we cannot guarantee that other methods of notification will be effective. E-mails do get lost. The Internet is not perfect. Please be aware that we may continue to contact you via email for administrative or informational purposes, including follow-up messages regarding contests you have entered or other transactions you have undertaken. By law, such messages are not considered to be commercial email. There is also a legal time period allowed for communication once a transaction of information has taken place between you and the company. |
