Seal Says He Is Always Writing Music

SealSinger and songwriter Seal, who released his first studio album in three years, says that he always feels pressure to write songs. But he adds that he got confirmation from Grammy-winning songwriter Lionel Richie that writing doesn't always occur while sitting in a studio.

"I was speaking to Lionel Richie the other day and he said something really interesting... He says he is not one of these people who can just wake-up in the morning and go out (to work) between the hours of nine and ten. So much so that his publisher would call up the house and say, 'Where is Lionel?'" Seal told AP. "His assistant would say, 'Oh he is out shopping or doing something.' She would go, 'What is he doing shopping? He should be working. We need this record.'

"His response to that was, what they didn't know is that he was working," Seal continued. "I understood what he met by that. As a songwriter, you never really stop. I finished my album now, but I am writing all of the time."

Seal's new CD The System was released on Tuesday (November 13th).

The British Grammy winner will be featured alongside his wife, supermodel Heidi Klum, on the December 4th broadcast of The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. He will also perform live for professional ice skaters at The Music of Seal On Ice, set for December 18th at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.
