Music mogul Quincy Jones has inked a two-book deal with Insight Editions. The first title, The Complete Quincy Jones: My Journey & Passions: Photos, Letters, Memories & More from Q's Personal Collection will be published October 28th. Insight Editions is distributed by Random House.
The book will include a foreword by Clint Eastwood, preface from Bono, an introduction by Maya Angelou and an afterword by Sidney Poitier.
The book itself will include personal interviews and recollections from Jones, as well as a glimpse of previously unseen material from Jones' personal collection: excerpts from private notebooks, correspondence, photographs, and more. All are designed to shed light on Jones' creative process through 50 years of music.
The second book, titled Quincy Jones: 60 Years of American Music, is scheduled for publication in September 2009.
