Peter Fonda says he got his hands dirty in the remake of the 1957 western, 3:10 To Yuma, which opens Friday, September 7th. In it, the 68-year-old actor plays a Pinkerton detective trying to escort outlaw Russell Crowe to a train. It wasn't the easiest of roles for the Fonda, who recalls getting quite dirty during scene on dusty desert ground: "I'm telling you, I was down on the ground eating that dust day after day, wind blowing. And still, makeup would throw it at me in the morning. Like I'd say, 'It's going to happen. Within an hour I'm going to look like this dude crawling through the dust.' It was pretty dramatic in that sense."
3:10 To Yuma also stars Gretchen Mole,Christian Bale and others.
