Scores of Hollywood types are making the 90-mile drive from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara this weekend to attend Oprah Winfrey's fundraiser for Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama. Deep-pocketed individuals like Tom Hanks, Jamie Foxx, Beyonce Knowles, Dreamworks founders Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, and George Clooney are among the expected guests at the talk show host's $54 million estate. And unlike lesser-known guests, they'll probably be allowed into Oprah's home, which will be closed off to everyone else.
The Saturday (September 8th) festivities take place under tents on Winfrey's extensive lawn and will offer "picnic-style" dining on the grounds with food prepared by Winfrey's personal chef Art Smith. Guests were advised to don "garden party attire" and they will be checked for cameras upon arrival.
Jamie Foxx said he's looking forward to the fundraiser: "The Obama fundraiser at Oprah's house should be nice. I'm looking forward to seeing the house 'cause I heard it's kind of, you know, fly."
