Saxophonist Mindi Abair is officially releasing the track "Do You Miss Me?" as the third single from her enormously popular CD Life Less Ordinary. The tune, which was prominently featured on her website, also has a special video available at mindiabair.com.
The track follows the successful Number One singles "True Blue and "Bloom" from the current CD.
Like many of her tunes, "Do You Miss Me" features Abair's breathy vocal style. She has sung the hooks on her most popular instrumentals, including the smooth jazz hit "Lucy's," and taken the lead on full vocals on several other original compositions. She explained: "I love singing. And for me to have a few vocal songs on the record makes it really fun. 'Cause it's just a different way to express yourself. As a writer, you write an instrumental song and it captures a moment, it captures a feeling or something. But you can capture something a lot different as a lyricist and as a vocalist."
Mindi performs August 5th at the Seattle Station Jazz Festival in Seattle, Washington.
