Saxophonist Mindi Abair confesses that she is a great admirer of singer Josh Groban, whose CD Noel finished out 2007 as the top-selling album of the year with 2.7 million copies sold.
Abair got a chance to tour nationally as a special guest opener for Groban back in 2004 and got to see him work up close. She said: "Yes, I am a Josh Groban fan. I think that he's just one of the most amazing artists out there right now. And just to see someone who's broken through and sold so many records and gained such notoriety out of such excellence is really fun for me to see."
Abair recently signed to Peak Records and is working on Stars, the follow-up to her 2006 hit set A Life Less Ordinary. Stars, is expected in April 2008.
Abair recently wrapped up the Peter White Christmas tour with Rick Braun and Peter White. She will next appear on the Smooth Jazz Cruise hosted by Wayman Tisdale and departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on January 20th, 2008.
