Saxophonist Mike Phillips, keyboardist Jeff Lorber, violinist Karen Briggs, and keyboardist Patrice Rushen are all featured on the fifth installment of the popular Unwrapped series. The CD, titled Unwrapped Vol. 5.0: The Collipark Cafe Sessions, teams the jazz players with Southern hip-hop producer Mr. Collipark for a jazz-meets-hip-hop romp through several Southern rap hits.
Among the 11 tracks on the new set are instrumental versions of Lil Jon & the EastSide Boyz' "Get Low," Hurricane Chris' "A Bay Bay," Soulja Boy's "Crank That (Soulja Boy Tellem)," Ludacris' "Splash Waterfalls," and Snoop Dogg's "Sensual Seduction."
This is the first new Unwrapped set in three years. The previous four volumes were all strong sellers.
Unwrapped Vol. 5.0 will be released by Hidden Beach on June 24th.
