Michael Jackson Ordered To Pay Attorneys

Michael Jackson has been ordered to pay $175,000 in overdue attorneys' fees to a law firm that helped him with legal issues surrounding civil cases as well as his 2005 child molestation trial. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Chalfant handed down the decision Monday (October 15th), pushing Jackson's total legal bill to the firm of Ayscough & Marar up to more than $430,000.

Ayscough & Marar sued Jackson in February 2006, claiming he didn't pay for services it rendered on his behalf.

Chalfant had previously ruled in July that Jackson was already liable for $256,000 for unpaid fees to the firm. Jackson's attorneys have appealed that judgment.

Monday's order is to compensate the firm for its legal fees in suing the singer.
