The upcoming Luther Vandross boxed set Love, Luther will contain not only hits, but some rare and previously unreleased material, as well. Due October 16th from Epic/J/Legacy, Love, Luther will include 1981 demos of "Ready For Love" and "If You Can't Dance" as well as versions of "There's Only You," "So Amazing" and "Anyone Who Had A Heart" that were recorded in June 1986 at a rehearsal studio in Montserrat.
The first single from the set will be "There's Only You," which is the first single of new Vandross material to be released since the beloved singer's death in July 2005.
The three-disk set is arranged chronologically, with the first containing early hits like with such early hits as "Never Too Much," "If the World Were Mine" and "Having A Party," and the second disk featuring top hits like "Stop To Love," the Gregory Hines duet "There's Nothing Better Than Love," and "Here and Now."
Disk Three features material he recorded before his solo career with the groups Luther and Charme, and several live recordings, duets with Mariah Carey and Frank Sinatra, and other solo hits, including the more-recent "Take You Out." |
