Lindsay Lohan is drawing widespread criticism for recently referring to Barack Obama as "colored" -- or at least that's what it sounds like she said. In an interview with Access Hollywood, the 22-year-old described her experience on Election Day, "It was really exciting. It's an amazing feeling. It's our first colored president."
She mumbled when she used the word to describe the president, so bloggers and fans on line have given some can't agree on what she said. Some think she was really trying to say "good" while others think she meant to say "president of color" and got tongue-tied.
NAACP Communications Director Carla Sims came to Lohan's defense saying, "Sometimes you have to look at the intent . . . but the word 'colored' isn't derogatory. Clearly she's an Obama supporter."
Maria Menounos, who interviewed Lohan, didn't question her use of the term after the response.
During the presidential campaign, Lohan wrote several messages in her blog expressing support for Obama.
