Larry Carlton Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

Larry CarltonGuitar Player magazine has bestowed its 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award upon legendary guitarist Larry Carlton. The 60-year-old musician has appeared on over 3,000 CDs and issued 31 albums of his own, in addition to being a member of the smooth jazz supergroup Fourplay. The hard-working Grammy Award winner currently has several projects in the works, including Fourplay's forthcoming album, Energy, which will be in stores on September 23rd.

According to smoothvibes.com, Guitar Player has created a video tribute to Carlton, which includes his music and a slide show that focuses on some of his career highlights. The tribute can be viewed at his mr335tv.com website.

Carlton has performed on albums by such artists as Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, Billy Joel and Quincy Jones.
