Justin Timberlake's 'Box' Spoof Wins Creative Arts Emmy Award
Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg's Saturday Night Live "(Blank) in a Box" video scored a Creative Arts Emmy Award this past weekend for Best Original Music and Lyrics. The clip became a YouTube favorite last December and has since been performed by the pair live in concert. Timberlake had a show scheduled in Tacoma, Washington on Saturday (September 8th), so he couldn't attend the ceremony. Samberg accepted the award, saying, "I think it's safe to say that when we first set out to make this song, we were all thinking 'Emmy.'"
The Creative Arts Emmys honor technical and other achievements for the 2006-07 season. The event will air September 15th on E!
The Primetime Emmy Awards will broadcast live September 16th on Fox. American Idol's Ryan Seacrest will serve as host.
Timberlake's tour stops in Sacramento, California tonight (Monday, September 10th).
