Keyboardist Jeff Lorber is set to join the 2008 edition of the annual Guitars & Saxes trek. While Lorber has been an anchor for a number of package tours over the years, this is his first time joining the G&S tour, which has traditionally featured only guitarists and saxophonists.
Lorber's tour mates will be saxophonist Gerald Albright and guitarists Jeff Golub and Peter White. Dates for the 2008 G&S tour begin in April.
In the meantime, Lorber's 2007 CD He Had A Hat has been nominated for a Grammy in the best contemporary jazz album category. The set features the current smooth jazz hit "Anthem For A New America."
Lorber will finish out the year with a final performance with Norman Brown's Summer Storm. The December 29th show takes place at the Ohio Theater in Columbus, Ohio.
