Actor and singer Jamie Foxx is facing a lawsuit from a former stylist who says she wasn't paid for her work with the Oscar winner. Earlier this week, a Los Angeles judge shot down an appeal from the stylist asking if she could tack on further charges to her original suit. Superior Court Judge Jane L. Johnson rejected Stacy Young's motion to amend her suit, ruling that it did not comply with state court rules, according to AP.
Young first sued Foxx for breach of contract in February, charging that he failed to pay her all of the nearly $6,000 she says she was owed for dressing him for an awards show and press junkets.
On Monday (July 23rd), she sought to add further allegations that Foxx insulted her and disparaged her abilities in the presence of others, opening the way to seek damages for negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress. After the judge shot down the amendment, Young and her lawyers said they will refile the suit.
A lawyer for Foxx said in court papers that the new allegations are "complete fabrications and have no merit whatsoever."
Foxx is set to return to the big screen in the thriller The Kingdom on September 28th.
