Jazz legend Herbie Hancock is among the musical celebrities who are featured in a series of PSAs for television and radio to promote Daniel Pearl World Music Days, an international network of concerts scheduled between October 1st and October 15th. Hancock himself is set to perform at one of the concerts in Japan.
Other artists involved in the PSA campaign include Elton John, classical violinist Ida Haendel and the late father of modern Nubian music, Hamza el Din.
Since the inception of World Music Days in 2002, there have been more than 1,500 concerts in 67 countries that have been dedicated to the theme of "Harmony for Humanity."

Meanwhile, Hancock is set to unveil his brand-new project, River: The Joni Letters on September 25th. Special guest vocalists for the project include Leonard Cohen, Tina Turner, Norah Jones, Corinne Bailey Rae, Luciana Souza, and Joni Mitchell herself.
