The ageless keyboardist recently said that his advice to younger musicians is to keep their hearts and minds open. Hancock added: "Look at the world from the standpoint of being inclusive rather than exclusive, and to learn how to look at life not from the standpoint of being a victim, but from the standpoint of being a victor. Because every human being has great beauty inside. It's inside yourself but it's also inside others and it's important to learn to recognize that. And that shapes the story of whatever music comes out of you."

Hancock has earned 12 Grammy Awards overall. He picked up his two latest -- Album of the Year and Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year -- at the 50th anniversary Grammy Awards ceremony this past February for his 2007 CD River: The Joni Letters.
