Harry Connick Jr. Celebrates Holidays with "What A Night!"

Harry Connick Jr.Pianist, singer, and actor Harry Connick Jr. is preparing to release his new holiday collection, What A Night! -- A Christmas Album, due November 4th. The set features traditional holiday classics as well as four brand-new tunes.

Together with his big band, Connick performs "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas," "Jingle Bells," "We Three Kings," "Zat You Santa Claus?" and "Please Come Home For Christmas," among others.

What A Night is Connick's fourth excursion into holiday recording. He previously released 1993's triple-platinum When My Heart Finds Christmas, and Harry For The Holidays, his chart-topping sequel from 2003. The latter album included "The Happy Elf," the theme from the 2005 animated TV special of the same name that Connick also scored.

Connick said he truly enjoyed scoring The Happy Elf Christmas special, his first effort at writing for the screen: "I kinda think cinematically in a lot of ways anyway, like when I'm writing for a record I sorta see images in my head and kinda write to them. So I felt comfortable doing it. But to have specific images that were coming from one place and going someplace else and to be able to write for that was so fun, I loved it."

What A Night also includes the inspirational "Song for the Hopeful," a duet with gospel singer Kim Burrell. The tune is featured the Lifetime film Living Proof, in which Connick stars as the doctor who developed the life-saving treatment for breast cancer. Living Proof will premiere October 18th at 9 p.m. ET/PT on the Lifetime network.
