Neo-soul divas Erykah Badu and Jill Scott make guest appearances on Trav'lin' Light, the upcoming jazz and pop CD by Queen Latifah.
Also guesting on the set are Motown veteran Stevie Wonder, who plays harmonica on one track, and jazz veterans Joe Sample and George Duke on keyboards and Christian McBride on bass.
Trav'lin' Light is Latifah's second all-vocals album, and includes versions of tunes made famous by Etta James, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, Shirley Horne, Phoebe Snow, Roberta Flack and others.
Trav'lin Light will be released on September 25th.
Latifah has launched a concert tour to promote the new album, but it hasn't put a dent in her film career. The Hairspray star has just been signed on to shoot the comedy caper Mad Money. The film will star Latifah alongside Diane Keaton and Katie Holmes as Federal Reserve employees who decide to steal money slated to be destroyed.
