Eric Darius Is 'Goin' All Out' To Appeal To More Demographics
Saxophonist Eric Darius says that his first Blue Note album, Goin' All Out, is his best to date. The Florida native's third solo CD will be released on June 24th, and features more of his composition and flowing horn style.
Darius explained: "Throughout the past several years I've really been immersing myself in different styles of music and cultures, because this time around I really wanted to create a different sound, a more unique, distinctive sound that really transcended all the music boundaries and that would appeal to every single age demographic."
Darius is off to a strong start with the leadoff single "Goin' All Out" rising to Number 20 on the most recent smooth jazz airplay chart.
The album Goin' All Out is the follow-up to Darius' 2006 set Just Getting Started.
