EWF's most recent release was 2006's Illumination. The last few years have also seen the influential group receive long overdue honors. Member Verdine White noted that awards have helped the group embark on new chapters in its ongoing career: "Awards like the BET Awards, Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame -- those awards allowed us to turn the page, because they confirmed that we were cool. So now we kind of can do almost anything. You know, I think our career has kind of stood the test of time."
