Earl Klugh Offers Up Variety With 'The Spice Of Life'

Earl KlughGuitarist Earl Klugh released his first CD of new material in nine years this week with the album, The Spice Of Life. Klugh says that he usually finds it easy to come up with album titles, but this album proved challenging to tie together under one name.

He explained: "Sometimes titles come very easy, and this one was one that just, it didn't happen. The record has a lot of variety from solo pieces to orchestra to funky stuff, and so I was just sitting there one night out of desperation. I said well, 'Variety is the spice of life.' So instead of 'variety is the spice of life,' I just called it The Spice Of Life."

Klugh's first single from the set, "Driftin'," leaped onto the smooth jazz singles chart this week at Number 25.
