Detroit 300 Conservancy and DTE Energy present Holiday Party in the Park the Official City of Detroit Holiday Tree Lighting

Detroit Holiday TreeCampus Martius Park, “Detroit Gathering Place,” and the Detroit 300 Conservancy welcome in the holiday season with the annual lightning of the City of Detroit’s Holiday Tree presented by DTE Energy on Friday, November 21 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. This special Detroit community tradition will celebrate its fifth year anniversary and feature a wide variety of winter fun events including world-class and local ice skating shows, presented by Comerica Charitable Foundation as well as live choirs and entertainment.

Additional holiday activities for all ages will include public ice skating with a DJ until midnight at The Rink, choir group performances, marching bands, carolers, carriage rides, the IKEA warming house, children’s fun area, cool giveaways, food vendors and the annual Salvation Army Red Kettle Kick-off. At the center of all this activity, the evening will reach its crescendo with the magical Tree Lighting, taking place at approximately 7:55pm.

Campus Martius Park, Detroit’s Gathering Place and the centerpiece of revitalization in downtown, is a legacy gift to the city of Detroit from the Detroit 300 Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that has raised over $20 million to design, construct and operate the Park through businesses, foundations and individual donations.
