David Letterman will appear as a guest on Oprah Winfrey's talk show for the first time, further indicating that their decade-long feud has ended. Winfrey's production company announced that the taping would take place in Madison Square Garden on September 10th where it will be broadcast live in some markets and rebroadcast in others.
Letterman, who rarely makes himself available as an interviewee, frequently makes jokes at Winfrey's expense, and in 2003 she said she wouldn't go on his show because she was tired of being his constant target. She finally agreed to be a guest in 2005, and told the comic, "I want you to know, it's really over, whatever you thought was happening."
Last February the two talk show hosts starred in a Super Bowl commercial together where they spoofed their supposed animosity for one another.
