Saxophone star Dave Koz is beginning to do preliminary work on his CD follow-up to the Grammy-nominated At The Movies. He says he wants to get back to composing and recording original music, and notes that his work is all about setting up artistic challenges for himself and his instrument.
Recently, Koz noted: "I'm enjoying exploring my relationship with the saxophone. That's really where -- I've had a wonderful, blessed career with a lot of avenues to travel down. But the thread through it all is that relationship. It's many, many years in the making (laughs). It's my primary relationship in life, with my sax."
In other news, Koz is the cover story in the April issue of Jazziz magazine.
His next performance will be April 19th at the Seabreeze Jazz Festival in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
