Saxophonist Dave Koz has recorded a new CD of holiday treasures titled Memories Of A Winter's Night that will be released on September 18th. The new set is previewed by the single "White Christmas" featuring vocalist Kelly Sweet. Another tune, "Please Come Home For Christmas" features vocalist Kimberly Locke. Both ladies will be featured on the upcoming Dave Koz & Friends: A Smooth Jazz Christmas tour, celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.
Memories Of A Winter's Night will feature newly recorded holiday favorites as well as selected tunes from Koz's previous holiday sets, 1997's December Makes Me Feel This Way and 2001's A Smooth Jazz Christmas. Guests include Brenda Russell on "Boogie Woogie Santa Claus," and smooth jazz stars Rick Braun, Peter White and David Benoit shine on "Little Drummer Boy."
Koz also wrote the CD's title track, "Memories Of A Winter's Night (A Song For Hanukkah)," especially for the set.
The tenth annual Dave Koz & Friends: A Smooth Jazz Christmas Tour, featuring Jonathan Butler, Wayman Tisdale, Kelly Sweet and Kimberly Locke, kicks off November 23rd.
Koz's previous CD is the orchestral themes set At The Movies.
