Saxophonist Dave Koz is getting closer to the release of his special Dave Koz At The Movies Double Feature CD + DVD. The new edition of his collection of movie hits will be available for Valentine's Day on February 12th.
The DVD component of the new package includes footage of Koz recording cinema's most memorable themes with special guests, including Barry Manilow, Johnny Mathis, and Peter White. The DVD also includes track-by-track commentary and exclusive interviews with the artists.
The CD will also include two new bonus tracks: a version of the theme from "Alfie," as well as version of composer Nino Rota's "Love Theme from the Godfather."
In addition, the At The Movies DVD will be shown on PBS stations as part of its March pledge drive. Check local listings for channels and times.
For his work on At The Movies, Koz has received a Grammy nomination in the Best Pop Instrumental Album. A track from that set, "Over The Rainbow," also received a nomination for Best Pop Instrumental Performance.
The Grammy Awards will be held February 10th in Los Angeles.
