Dave Koz has officially announced the lineup and itinerary for his tenth annual Dave Koz & Friends: A Smooth Jazz Christmas tour. As previously reported, the saxophonist has invited guitarist Jonathan Butler, bassist Wayman Tisdale and American Idol Season 2 finalist Kimberley Locke along for the ride. The tour kicks off November 23rd in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
The tour announcement coincides with the release of a new holiday CD by Koz titled Memories Of A Winter's Night, which is due Tuesday (September 18th).
As in years past, the musicians tour with a backing band and perform secular hits from their own recordings as well as holiday fare. Koz explained: "We all share one band, and it's kinda like we start the show together, then we kinda help each other out on not only on our own hits but also on Christmas songs. It's about 50-50 of a combination the songs people come to know us for and chestnuts of the season. And it's really fun because it's very rare that people see artists really collaborating and kind of being there for each other, and that's the whole spirit. It's much like Christmas itself."
