Clay Aiken Expected To Announce He's Gay In 'People' Cover Story

Clay AikenClay Aiken is expected to announce he's gay in the upcoming issue of People magazine. The supposed magazine cover, featuring the headline Yes, I'm Gay, started popping up on the web yesterday. It shows a photo of Aiken with his new son, Parker Foster, with a subheadline that continues: "The Idol star opens up about his emotional decision to come out: I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things." When MTV News asked about the cover, a People rep said, "We can confirm that Clay Aiken and his son are featured on the next issue of People. For the complete story, please visit People.com at 7 a.m. ."

Aiken recently became the father of Parker Foster Aiken. His good friend, Jaymes Foster, gave birth to the boy after being artificially inseminated with the former American Idol runner-up's sperm.

For years, there have been suspicions about Aiken's sexuality. He made headlines when a man claimed he hooked up with Aiken after meeting him on a gay dating website. And when asked about his sexuality in an interview with Diane Sawyer back in 2006, Aiken called the ABC host "really rude" and said, "I don't understand why it's any of your business."

Aiken is currently in the musical Spamalot on Broadway.
