Guitarist Chuck Loeb, who reunited his band Metro for the CD release Express earlier this year, is planning to take the band on the road this summer. Metro was started 10 years ago by Loeb with keyboardist Mitchell Forman and also features regular band members Wolfgang Haffner and Will Lee. However, because of prior commitments, these musicians will not be going on the road.
Instead, Loeb drafted Eric Marienthal on saxophone and Gerald Veasley on bass to perform along with Dave Weckl on drums, and occasional special guest Randy Brecker on trumpet.
Upcoming Metro dates include June 2nd through 4th at Catalina's in Los Angeles and June 5th at Anthology in San Diego before the band heads on a European tour. More dates are scheduled for July 29th through August 4th at the Blue Note in New York.
