Chris Botti Treasures Work With David Foster, Andrea Bocelli
Chris Botti reached out to Grammy-winning writer and producer David Foster to co-create the title track of his new CD Italia, a tribute to the music, imagery, and culture of Italy. Botti says that it was Foster who suggested that Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli provide the lead vocal for the track. Now Botti and Bocelli will recreate their performance on an upcoming PBS special that will air in December.
"I really got an inside look at how a true genius operates. I can\'t say enough positive things about his connection with his audience and with his fellow musicians and we just had a great experience doing that," Botti said of working on "Italia" with Bocelli. "And the whole way that Italia unfolded for me, being able to write with David and being able to have Andrea on the track, will be something that will be with me for the rest of my career."
Botti is climbing up the smooth jazz charts with the single "Venice" from the new CD.
