Ashton Kutcher gave a New York homeowner a big surprise on Wednesday (August 8th) when he helped install a tie rack at the man's apartment. Kutcher had been working with the Closet Factory to research a role, and he reportedly went on the house call to get a better idea of what a closet installer does. Kutcher also reportedly helped clean up flooding damage at the Closet Factory's Long Island City office.

Former Married... With Children star Christina Applegate has sealed the deal on her divorce from actor Johnathon Schaech. Applegate will get two houses, a Lexus, and $7.5 million in the split, and Schaech will wind up with a Mercedes and $1.5 million in cash. Applegate and Schaech were married for six years and have no children. She stars in the new ABC series Samantha Who? this fall.

Ugly Betty star America Ferrera is househunting with her boyfriend, Ryan Williams. The actress and the aspiring director first met several years ago when Ferrera starred in one of Williams' student films. Now, says a friend, "All that matters to them is that they are together and that they find somewhere private."

Salma Hayek will produce and star in an untitled Disney musical about a woman whose wedding plans are thrown for a loop when her famous ex-lover hits town.

Crossing Jordan star Jill Hennessy is pregnant with her second child. The baby is due in November and is a boy. Hennessy and husband Paolo Mastropietro are already the parents of a four-year-old boy.

Y Tu Mama Tambien stars Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna are raising money to support human rights in their native Mexico. The actors hosted a benefit dinner for two human right groups this weekend, and said they'll use their newly form production company to make films about failures in the Mexican judicial system and to document human rights abuses.

Francis Ford Coppola has been upgraded by France's Legion Of Honor from a "Chevalier" to an "Officer."

Stardust director Matthew Vaughn's next project is Thor, a big screen version of the Marvel comic book.
