Ashton Kutcher gave a New York homeowner a big surprise on Wednesday (August 8th) when he helped install a tie rack at the man's apartment. Kutcher had been working with the Closet Factory to research a role, and he reportedly went on the house call to get a better idea of what a closet installer does. Kutcher also reportedly helped clean up flooding damage at the Closet Factory's Long Island City office.

Former Married... With Children star Christina Applegate has sealed the deal on her divorce from actor Johnathon Schaech. Applegate will get two houses, a Lexus, and $7.5 million in the split, and Schaech will wind up with a Mercedes and $1.5 million in cash. Applegate and Schaech were married for six years and have no children. She stars in the new ABC series Samantha Who? this fall.

The actors hosted a benefit dinner for two human right groups this weekend, and said they'll use their newly form production company to make films about failures in the Mexican judicial system and to document human rights abuses.
