Holly Madison has confirmed that she and Hugh Hefner are no longer a couple. After a clip in which she acknowledged the split to a TMZ.com photographer became public on October 7th, Madison addressed their relationship on her blog. "Hef and I will always be friends," she wrote. "I do have my own place, but I am still at the Mansion, too, right now . . . I'm too busy to move! hahaha . . . Bridget, Kendra and I are all still best friends and plan on doing several projects together in the future . . . even though Bridget is in Europe right now and I am sad and lonely without her."
Britney Spears will have to stand trial for driving without a valid California driver's license after a three-judge panel denied a motion by her attorney seeking a delay in the trial and a reduction in the charges. Spears was charged with not having a valid California license after she hit a parked car in August 2007 and left the scene. The trial is scheduled to begin next week. She is not expected to appear during the case.
You can put one rumor to bed: Gerard Butler says he is not dating Jennifer Aniston. The 300 star, soon to be seen in director Guy Ritchie's gangster flick RocknRolla, tells E! News, "This came from a seven-minute conversation that we had at the Toronto Film Festival at a big party, and the next minute it's in all the papers." Butler insists that "absolutely nothing" is going on between he and Aniston.
Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry says one or more cast members from the ABC hit will be killed off in a major fire that breaks out during a November ratings sweeps episode. Cherry reveals, "It's one of the biggest special-effects episodes we've ever done, actually more difficult than the tornado." The plot involves a Wisteria Lane garage band put together by Neal McDonough's Dave Williams. Cherry says, "We have a huge episode that we just started shooting where all my regulars go to see a garage band from the neighborhood play in a nightclub. The nightclub gets set on fire. It's connected to the mystery."
David Letterman may be planning to kiss and make up with Republican presidential candidate John McCain. Letterman tore into McCain recently after the politician canceled a Late Show appearance, claiming he had to rush back to Washington, D.C., only to head over to CBS News for an interview with Katie Couric. According to the New York Post, McCain would make his visit to the Late Show on October 15th, when he's in town for the third and final presidential date. The big dilemma is coming up with a face-saving apology for McCain.
