Online book giant Amazon.com revealed on December 14th that it was the mystery buyer of JK Rowling's The Tales of Beedle the Bard, which sold at a Sotheby's auction in London for nearly $4 million. It was the only volume of Rowling's first post-Harry Potter work available for purchase; seven copies were published and six were given to people closely connected with the Potter books. All proceeds from the sale go to The Children's Voice, a charity Rowling co-founded in 2005.
