Saxophonist Candy Dulfer, who is preparing to release the new CD Candy Store on Heads Up International, says that she will wed her keyboardist and collaborator Thomas Bank one day, but that as a European, she doesn't consider herself officially "engaged."
Asked about recent reports of an official engagement and impending wedding, the 37-year-old smooth jazz saxophonist explained: "I was asked and we will definitely marry one day. But we're sort of putting it off because we want to marry on a day with sunshine, and living in the Netherlands that's almost impossible. You know, the summer is the greatest time to get married but it's always tours and great stuff to do so we keep putting it off, and maybe we shouldn't. It isn't really official 'engaged,' we just know we love each other and we want to get married."
Candy Store will be released in the U.S. on September 18th. Dulfer's new single, "L.A. City Lights," is among the most added tracks at smooth jazz radio.
