Candy Dulfer Says Fans Feel The Fun In Candy Store
Smooth Jazz saxophonist Candy Dulfer is happy that Americans are embracing the music on her latest CD, Candy Store. The project is her first for the Heads Up International label, and features the fast-rising smooth jazz single "L.A. City Lights."
Dulfer says that listeners are probably responding to the fact that she had a great time recording the project with longtime collaborators Thomas Bank and Ulco Bed and new partner Chance Howard. She explained: "People can really feel the fun you had while doing it. And I've had albums before while it was maybe less fun or a little bit more, ah, I don't know... arranged or contrived or whatever. And it's almost like you can notice that in the reactions. People just want to feel the energy of the CD and have it go right into their ears and to their hearts. It's almost like they can feel it. You know, like, when you didn't have fun making the album they almost can sense it."
Dulfer is focusing on the production and broadcast of her new talk and performance show Candy Meets, which is broadcast in her native Netherlands.
