Saxophonist Candy Dulfer says her favorite thing to do is to perform on stage, but she also likes mixing it up. The Dutch beauty just unveiled a new TV series called Candy Meets in her home country, in which she interviews and performs with some of her favorite artists.
The first episode aired in The Netherlands over the weekend, and Dulfer is working on getting the programs shown in the United States as well. Among her subjects are former band mates, like percussionist Sheila E.; inspirations, like saxophonists Maceo Parker and her dad, Hans Dulfer; and stars she's played for, including the Eurythmics' Dave Stewart and Van Morrison.
Recently, she shared a little more about the show, which is one of the many projects that keep her dedicated to music: "I just finished filming a whole television series for Dutch TV and we might sell it to the States as well, where I interview my musical heroes. So interviewed Sheila E., Maceo, Mavis Staples, Van Morrison, my Dad, and Dave Stewart. And all these things keep me inspired."
Dulfer is currently promoting her new album, Candy Store, featuring the smooth jazz single, "L.A. City Lights."
