Singer Anita Baker has been performing spot dates around the country and weighing options for her next recording. While fans may be anxious to see new product from the Grammy winner to tide them over after the 2005 release of My Everything, Baker has ruled out releasing any video footage of her live performances.
Baker says that many people have asked her about producing a live DVD project, but the idea makes her nervous. She explained that when she's performing, cameras are distracting: "I'm just trying to be present, you know, on stage. That's my main thing, is to just be present with every bar measure. And just going to some of the venues that we go to where they have the IMAX and the camera's down there staring up your nostrils, and there's some guy on the side with a camera and he's hawking your every move. I don't think that will ever happen unless they can find some way to do it and I not know it."
Baker's next concert dates are in October and November.
