Singer Alicia Keys unveiled the video for her new single, "Superwoman," on her website. The track is from her latest studio album, As I Am. The video is a collage of images showing women from all walks of life -- including a single mother trying to go back to school, a businesswoman in the boardroom, and an astronaut on a space flight.
Keys is wrapping up an international tour to promote As I Am, which critics are hailing as the popular singer's best CD yet. Keys says that in making the album, she and her producers tried out unusual sounds and instrumentation: "We amplified pianos and then distorted them. We took my vocals and put them through amps and distorted my vocals, we took keyboards and put them on echoplexes and distortions, and we put them through all kind of crazy pedals that you'd only put on guitars a la the '70s, when sounds were just so experimental. So that was a lot of fun."
