Alicia Keys is seeking a new back-up singer for her tour via the Internet. On Friday (May 2nd) the R&B star let it be known that she is inviting female singers between the ages of 21 and 30 to do a virtual "audition" for her via MySpace, according to Billboard.
Singers have until today, May 5th, to upload a 30-second audition of themselves singing a cappella to a Keys tune at the Grammy winner's page, myspace.com/aliciakeys. Hopefuls must be physically fit and be able to dance.
It's not clear whether the winning singer will join Keys current As I Am tour or when.
With three studio albums now under her belt, Keys says she enjoyed choosing the songs and the sequence for her current tour set list. She explained: "Having this incredible tour to put together and thinking about a creative way to put it all together, that's one of the most fun things for me to do. I love that about touring, I love the way I can put music together and make it all make sense. In this case, playing off of As I Am, which is exactly what I've learned this year and how I've become more into the woman that I am now, I really wanted to make it like an experience, a journey, almost."
Keys' next tour stop will be tonight, May 5th, at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
