A Survivor contestant who received $50,000 after claiming that the show cost her her job is under fire for having lied to get the cast. The Superintendent of the school district in which Denise Martin works said in a statement that Martin was promoted from cafeteria employee to custodian before appearing on Survivor. Martin returned to the position, which carries better benefits and a higher salary than her previous one, after her stint on the show.
Martin appeared with Superintendent Nancy Lane on CBS's The Early Show on December 18th, apologizing for what she said, but told the show she would not give back the money.
