'Cops,' And 'America's Most Wanted' Kicks Off New Season
Another year, another new season of Cops and America's Most Wanted. The reality series have lasted 20 seasons on Fox, and they introduce more criminal behavior this Saturday (September 8th).
The 20th season of Cops starts at 8 with Kansas City, Missouri police pursuing, and setting a K-9 unit on a car-jack suspect who has shot an officer. Florida Sheriffs also respond to a domestic violence call.
The 21st season of America's Most Wanted follows at 9, looking for more criminals on the run. America's Most Wanted host John Walsh said the show is such a well-known brand that bad guys know they're in trouble if they're profiled on the program:"We've had criminals say they'll check and see on a Saturday night to see if they're on, if it's really true, and then they'll surrender right after the show, so I think in some ways it's a deterrent. I've had criminals say, 'I knew once I was on America's Most Wanted, I was toast,' so in some ways it's a deterrent. I think it's actually educated the American public that anybody can be a crime victim."
